How to Exercise Scientifically

Fitness is the process of scientifically and reasonably selecting and applying various methods and techniques in accordance with the laws of human life activities to enhance human health. Therefore, the fundamental laws of life activities serve as the theoretical basis for fitness, while selecting and engaging in physical exercises serve as the means of fitness, aiming to achieve health standards in terms of one's physiological, psychological, and social adaptability.

As social and material civilization continues to advance and living conditions improve, a series of public health issues have emerged worldwide due to the severe lack of physical activity among people. These issues include an increased incidence of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, leading to a greater burden of diseases and resulting in related problems of national health and life expectancy loss. Therefore, encouraging and supporting the public to exercise has been recognized as an important means of preventing and reducing national health problems by countries around the world.

In China, achieving national well-being through nationwide fitness and consequently attaining the goal of a moderately prosperous society for all has become a national strategy. Scientific fitness is the necessary path to achieve this strategic goal.

The goal of fitness is health, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." There are numerous discussions in society regarding the significance of health for humanity, with the most well-known viewpoint being that "health is the greatest wealth, as without health, everything else is meaningless." Fitness activities not only reflect the individual's physical vitality but also contribute to their journey towards achieving good health. The significance of fitness activities for physical health is primarily manifested in three aspects: physiological, psychological, and social adaptation.
