When driving, not only do you need to keep an eye on the road, but you also need to be aware of everything around you. After driving for a long time, the neck muscles may feel tired, sore, and achy, and you might experience frequent headaches or migraines. These symptoms are all caused by excessive tension in the muscles and nerves.

Neck Rotation Pose

This set of exercises is suitable for doing in the car. Whenever you have the chance, whether it's during a brief stop or while waiting at a red light, you can use the steering wheel to help your head and neck relax and stretch. You can also do neck rotation exercises anytime while sitting in the office. Remember to move slowly and perform the movements accurately.

1. Sit straight, hands holding the steering wheel

● Sit in the driver's seat with your back straight, and hold the steering wheel at the ten and two o'clock positions, looking straight ahead.

2. Lower your head, chin touching the collarbone

● Slowly lower your head, trying to touch your chin to your collarbone. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, then slowly lift your head to an upright position and gently tilt it backward to the maximum extent. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, then return to an upright position.

3. Turn your head to the left, then to the right

● Slowly turn your head to the left, to the maximum extent. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, then turn back to the center. Then, slowly turn your head to the right, to the maximum extent. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, then return to the center.

4. Rotate your head in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions

● Finally, do a full head rotation, one circle in each direction (clockwise and counterclockwise). Perform the rotation as slowly as possible to give your intervertebral discs a uniform compression massage.

Regularly practicing these simple neck exercises can help relieve tension and discomfort in the neck muscles caused by prolonged driving. Taking a few minutes to do these exercises during breaks can make a significant difference in your overall comfort and well-being on the road.
